Créée en 2002 par Claise M’ PASSI, la compagnie Azaria est le groupe «pillier» de l’école de danse Héman. Acteur incontournable du mouvement hip hop français, elle fut l’une des premières compagnies féminines professionnelles de danse hip hop. Restée de nombreuses années dans l’ombre à s’entraîner, Azaria participe depuis 2004 à différents festivals et présente ses créations sur des scènes de théâtres prestigieux comme ceux de la Villette et Suresnes. Ainsi, l’année 2006 est marquée par la victoire de la compagnie Azaria à son premier concours national (Dance Delight). Cette victoire les conduit l’année suivante à la finale internationale à Tokyo où elles reçoivent le prix spécial du jury.
Azaria fait partie de ces compagnies à la personnalité unique. Cinq femmes au caractère fort, dynamiques et rigoureuses menées d’une main de maître par Claise M’Passi. La particularité de la compagnie est de sortir des sentiers battus. En dansant sur des musiques inexploitées, s’exécutant sur un travail chorégraphique original, loin des règles pré-conçues du hip hop, Azaria à su créer sa propre identité. «Ne pas faire de distinction entre la danseuse et le danseur.» Travail sur la musicalité, la rapidité et la synchronisation : Trois axes majeurs qui ont permis grâce à l’éducation rigoureuse de leur chorégraphe de rompre toutes les barrières physiques. La danse est un art pas une guerre des sexes. Aujourd’hui, la compagnie peut prétendre maîtriser plusieurs styles : pop, lock, new style, danse afro, jazz-rock mais tout cela avec leur touche si particulière. Au delà d’un simple groupe, Azaria est une famille ; voilà 10 ans qu’elles se connaissent et travaillent côte à côte, beaucoup plus que des collègues, elles sont devenues des soeurs. Ce qu’elles transmettent sur scène, c’est ce qu’elles ont réellement expérimenté. C’est ensemble qu’elles ont connu les difficultés, les combats, la tristesse mais aussi le bonheur de vivre. Autant de moments qui font que cette unité qu’Azaria symbolise et transmet est véritable. |
Created in 2002 by Claise M’Passi, Azaria is the “central” group of the dance school Heman. Incontrovertible actor of the French Hip Hop movement, it’s one of the first female professional crew.
Stayed in the shadow for many years training, Azaria has participated since 2004 in different festivals and has presented its creations on the stage of famous theatres like La Villette or Suresnes. The year 2006 is marked by the victory of the company in its first national contest (Dance Delight). This victory has leaded the group, the following year, to the international final in Tokyo where it has received the jury’s special honor.
Azaria is part of those companies with a unique personality. Five strong, dynamic and rigorous women wisely guided by Claise M’Passi.
